'Frostpaw' the Polar Bear, Climate Activists to Greet Hillary Clinton at San Francisco Book Event

Clinton Urged Join Fight Against Keystone XL Pipeline

SAN FRANCISCO— The Center for Biological Diversity’s Frostpaw the Polar Bear and other climate activists will welcome former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton at Wednesday’s Hard Choices book event at the San Francisco Orpheum Theater. The activists will urge Clinton to make the “easy choice” to support much-needed action on climate change and speak out against the Keystone XL pipeline.

More than 30 top conservation groups recently signed a letter urging Clinton to leverage her influence against Keystone XL. Clinton has long been an environmental advocate but has yet to take a public position on the pipeline.

“Secretary Clinton is likely laying the groundwork for a 2016 presidential run, and few national environmental issues hit home like Keystone XL,” said the Center’s No Tar Sands Campaigner Valerie Love. “When it comes to deciding on Keystone, her choice is easy: She should come out against the project in favor of a healthy, livable climate.”
