RANGE: Bismarck Archipelago and the seas around Bougainville Island to the east of Papua New Guinea, and the island of Kolombangara and Rendova in the Solomon Islands

THREATS: Introduced rats, cats, and dogs; also deforestation in Kolombangara and Rendova Islands fragmenting the species' potential breeding habitat
POPULATION TREND: The population of this seabird is estimated at between 250 and 999 individuals. Its population trend is not known for certain, but its absence from locations of historic sightings suggests that the species is in decline.
