Action timeline

September 23, 1993 – The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service listed the Pima pineapple cactus as endangered under the Endangered Species Act.

October 1998 – The Center, on behalf of a coalition of 31 environmental groups, drafted the Sonoran Desert Conservation Plan, a large-scale, regional management plan that helps conserve vital habitat for the Pima pineapple cactus and other endangered species.
